Check Your Laptop Battery Life Through CMD

Every devices that use battery must have a certain age of life. For example, Laptop. Battery is one of the most vital component inside your laptop. If you have used your laptop for a long time, let’s say 1 or 2 years, your battery life probably will decrease compare to the time you just bought the new laptop. There are some causes that your battery life is shorter than before, such as decreasing energy, unstable power stored to the battery, overcharging, etc. So, how do you know that your laptop battery is worthy used again now?

Here, I will share about checking laptop battery life through Command Prompt, no software.

Step 1

First, you must open your command prompt by Run as Administrator.

Step 2

Type powercfg energy at the command prompt.
If you don’t run the command prompt as administrator, you are not allowed to use the powercfg energy command.

Step 3

Wait for a while. Then, there will be a file location address, go to that address, and open with your browser.

Step 4

Scroll down until you find Battery:Battery Information section. There are details about your battery, two of them are Design Capacity and Last Full Charge.

Step 5

Divide the Design Capacity value with the Last Full Charge value then multiply with 100 %.

Now, you have already know the percentage of your battery life. The bigger the percentage, the more healthier your laptop battery is or vice-versa.
